Kyneton is located 85kms North West of Melbourne, just off the Calder Highway. It has one of the states strongest collections of historic bluestone buildings.The towns' Botanic gardens established in 1863, features Oaks, Firs, Cedars and picnic areas.

In the early spring the main approaches to Kyneton are lined with daffodils and the township celebrates the arrival of spring with its Daffodil and Arts Festival.

The Kyneton Cup is held on the first Wednesday of November.

Piper Street as Kyneton's premier tourist destination offers a number of fine dining restaurants, antiques, art galleries etc.

Wander along the Campaspe River walk, commencing at the Botanic Gardens and finishing at the pretty race track, north of Piper Street.

There are some fine golf courses within the district, olive oil producers and wineries.
